RB(TORO ROSSO), VCARB O1 - NAME IS NOT IMPORTANT, SPEED DOES MATTER

Even before the start of the presentation, the Visa Cash App RB press office released digital photos of the new 2024 car, which will be called VCARB 01. The presentation took place early this morning Europe time in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The livery is done in the traditional color scheme of Toro Rosso, but with logos of new partners and sponsors. We're back to the Toro Rosso blue with white accents and the chrome bull, as well as the Visa logo. Of all the cars presented so far, this team left the least amount of unpainted carbon.

When working on the VCARB 01, the engineers tried to use all the elements of the RB19 that are allowed by the regulations, including the front and rear damping, which should increase competitiveness.

In many ways, this is last year's Red Bull car, except for those components that each team must develop independently.
Present in Las Vegas were Peter Bayer, CEO of Visa Cash App RB and new team principal Laurent Mekies, as well as the driving duo of eight-time race winner Daniel Ricciardo and already experienced Japanese Yuki Tsunoda.

In addition to them, there was also Amna Al-Qubaisi, the competitor in the F1 Academy, who will drive the car in Visa Cash App RB colors.

Kendrick Lamar and Baby Kim took care of the fun part of the program.
Visa Cash App RB is the fourth version of the team founded in the last century by Giancarlo Minardi. It was later led by Australian businessman Paul Stoddart, and since 2006 it has been owned by Red Bull.

The longest and most successful period was when the team was called Toro Rosso, in 2008 young Sebastian Vettel won in the rain at Monza, Daniel Kvyat and Pierre Gasly had podium finishes.

After being renamed AlphaTauri, Gasly also won at Monza and was on the podium at Baku. Two wins in the team's 39-year existence.
The team begins the 2024 season with the unpronounceable name Visa Cash App RB, but said fans can call it whatever they like.

The TV presenters will probably opt for the short RB, but we and our fans have opted for Toro Rosso.

As soon as the team's livery management reverts to that era of the team, if unnecessary and attention-seeking sponsors were thrown out, the only logical choice for us is to call them Toro Rosso!

Toro Rosso has new management, with trademark and long-time team boss Franz Tost retiring to be replaced by Laurent Mekies, while Peter Bayer will be CEO.

Model naming begins with a new designation, VCARB 01.
Peter Bayer talked about how this strange name was born: "Since the beginning of last year we've been talking about wanting to get closer to Red Bull."

"Someone from the company suggested: Why don't we call these guys the Racing Bulls so they have an identity to go back to when the sponsors change."

"We had to change everything: the company name, many details, including the tax office, so it was quite difficult, but in the end we succeeded. The RB in the name symbolizes Red Bull, and Visa and Cash App are strong brands."

"Yes, I haven't heard many people pronounce Aston Martin's full name, Aston Martin Aramco Cowlant Formula 1 Team, I haven't heard Haas called Moneygram Haas. But that's not the important thing. We have to stay calm and we focus on the work of creating a beautiful and fast car."
Daniel Ricciardo outlined his goals for the upcoming season. The Australian driver expects to regularly finish in the top five in 2024.

"Our car will be fast, but if it looks great, then that's good. We're becoming more than just a youth team at Red Bull and that's really important."

"Last year's race in Mexico City was my second after the injury. The team has had problems getting good results before. results, so the results of that race gave us all hope for this year."

"Now I feel more confident in my abilities and I think we can expect very good things. Of course it would be great to get back on the podium, but if I only have one podium in the season and finish tenth in all the other races, then that's not what I want. In this case, I would like a lot of fifth places without podiums."

"I want to constantly fight for the top of the grid, as I did in my second season with Renault in 2020, which people have already started to forget. That year I consistently finished in the top five or six and was on the podium several times. I want to I'm going back to that level."

"Last week I worked on the simulator for two days and then I worked another day after the film day at Misano on Monday. It was great to be back behind the wheel, I missed it."

"People might think that at this stage of my career I don't care about such things, but actually I enjoy everything. This feeling is important to me, which gives me the motivation to give my best."

"Many new employees and several big partners have come to us. The team has always taken itself seriously, but I feel that now we have taken another step forward. We are no longer just a platform for Red Bull, it is time to fight with the best."

"I like the changes that happen in the team. Our thinking changes, we understand that we have to prove something. It's cool and fun."
Yuki Tsunoda hopes that thanks to the changes, he will not just be able to regularly fight for places in the top ten, but also periodically impose a fight on the Red Bull drivers.

"The team is not completely satisfied with the achievements of the last two years. In 2023, in the second part of the season, we were able to impose a fight on the opponents, but in the first races we had serious problems."

"This year we expect to be competitive from the start of the season and fight for better results. The team is hungry for results, which is positive. The team had a competitive car in 2021 and we need to repeat those results this season. They have joined us employees with vast experience."

"I expect that in working with them I will be able to further progress, gain new knowledge and become a better person. Alan Permain became a champion with Renault, he has a special style of thinking that the team needs."

"I hope that at some point we will be able to fight with Red Bull. I think we will succeed. Our expectations are quite high. At the same time, fitting everyone in will not be so easy, because the new employees have to adapt to the team for to work with full dedication."

"This will take time, so I don't expect us to start fighting for something serious from the first race."

"Laurent Mekies encourages us to be realistic, so in the first few races our main task is to adapt the new employees to the team. First you have to build a strong foundation for the future. I hope the car will be fast, but I don't have any special expectations from first races of the season."
