FAMOUS KEN BLOCK DIES IN SNOWMOBILE ACCIDENT

The famous rally driver and above all stuntman, Ken Block, died in a traffic accident at the age of 55. The tragedy happened on January 2 in Utah, USA.

According to local authorities, Block was driving up on a steep hill when the snowmobile overturned and fell on top of him. The rally driver was in a group but was alone at the time of the accident. He died on the spot from his injuries.

The American was particularly known for his web series Gymkhana, which he launched to promote his brand, DC Shoes, and which garnered millions of views. In it, Blok drove on dangerous circuit and terrains with obstacles.

He was currently a pilot for Audi, a brand with which he created Electrickhana, the same concept as his series, but with electric vehicles in the lead role.

"It is with the deepest regret that we can confirm that Ken Block has died in a snowmobile accident," his Hoonigan team said in a statement.

"Ken was a visionary, a pioneer and an icon. But most importantly, he was a father and a husband. He will be greatly missed."

One of the first condolences to Ken Block's family was expressed by 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button:

"I am shocked by the news of Ken's death. He was a talent who did a lot for motorsport. He was a true visionary with his unique style and infectious smile. Motorsport has lost one of its best representatives, but more importantly, a great person."
