Max Verstappen will start from pole position in Saturday's sprint in Miami, his first P1 finish in sprint qualifying since last season's Belgium weekend.
The reigning champion finished on top in an SQ3 in which few shone, including Charles Leclerc who will share the front row with the Dutchman, while Sergio Perez and the outstanding Daniel Ricciardo will start the sprint from the second row.
Leclerc without training, without anything, in second position. These moments remind us of his potential, but consistency is not his strong point.
A strange final showdown on red tires. But in the sprint and the Sunday race, the main role will be played by the yellows, ie. the white tires.
The results say that a very interesting sprint is not expected because many drivers will start from positions that are not typical for them.
