RED BULL RB20 - MAINTAINING CHAMPIONSHIP PERFORMANCE

Today, Tuesday, February 15, at 20:30 Central European Time, Red Bull presented its new car at its base in Milton Keynes

On the set stage in warehouse 11 were Christian Horner, the team boss who is under internal investigation for misconduct, drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, Adrian Newey, who has designed many championship cars.

Last year, Red Bull won all races of the season except for one, that one in Singapore. Red Bull's advantage is, among other things, due to the weakness of their rivals.

Some of them in 2023, compared to 2022, not only did not improve, but on the contrary took steps back.
For the new season, the team says that the weaknesses of the RB19 have been identified, and simply some of them have been fixed for the RB20, the car for 2024.

They haven't been able to fix all the problems, and they're looking forward to seeing how it performs on the tracks. Of course, they hope they've taken a step forward with the RB20.

After achieving the maximum possible result for the first time last year, first and second places in the drivers competition and again winning the championship for constructors, the team cannot set other goals. Success will be just another victory.
Photos from the presentation appeared on the Internet a few hours before the specified time.

The presentation of the RB20 was broadcast on social media and was traditional and well thought out visually.

Reporters have been asked not to ask to many quaestions about the Horner investigation because the information is not available while the entire process is underway.
Unveiling the RB20, Team Principal and CEO Christian Horner said: "This is a momentous year in the Team’s history. Over the past 20 years, Red Bull has succeeded in changing the landscape of Formula One and it has done it by being determined to do things differently, by being committed to playing hard and racing even harder and by being utterly focused on competing for the biggest prizes in the sport."

"We’ve been lucky enough to do that on multiple occasions and seven Drivers’ titles, six Constructors’ Championship wins and 113 race victories to date demonstrate the success of Red Bull’s vision for the Team. The latest chapter of that story starts today with the RB20."

"It’s going to a thrilling and hugely competitive season but as we saw last year, this is a team operating at the peak of its powers and in Max and Checo we have two drivers who can deliver at every circuit, in any conditions, so I’m confident that, just as we have done for the past 20 years, we can compete for podiums, wins and hopefully more championships."
This year there are special circumstances surrounding the presentation due to the internal investigation of Christian Horner, who reluctantly answered and asked for no more questions on this topic.

Sky F1 reporters asked: Will you remain team boss and CEO? Will you leave these positions, at least temporarily, until things calm down?

"No, business continues as usual. The investigation is ongoing, but I, of course, completely deny all the charges brought against me. It is clear that I am participating in this process and I hope that it will be completed in the near future."

"Of course, such stories are always unpleasant, but we have a strong and united team, and today is a very important day when we announce the start of the new season. We are one team, one collective, and the shareholders of the company give us great support."

"Without this support, nothing would have happened. So it is not true that we are in bad relations with them. I built this team, I convinced people to come to us and work here, and working with our team and with these people gives me pleasure."

"People are our main asset. We met with Joss and Max a few days ago at Silverstone, Max is fully focused on his work and I look forward to continue working with him in the coming season."

"People always talk about rumours, it's inevitable, but we were and remain one team, and that won't change. There's a certain process going on, which I hope won't drag on too long."
Max Verstappen: "We gathered in Milton Keynes to present the Red Bull RB20. The launch of a new car is always exciting because we see the results of the enormous work of the whole team."

"Before the start of this season I have the same mindset as before the start of last. I'm glad to be back behind the wheel, we'll soon find out how competitive our car is."

"Last year we had an incredible season, because we won so many races and set many records. It will be difficult to repeat something like this in 2024, but that is not the goal."

"Of course we want to win and become champions, but that doesn't necessarily mean setting new records. The team has been competing in Formula 1 for twenty years, and I've been part of it for half of that time."

"For me, Red Bull became the second family I grew up in. I'm interested in what other results we can achieve together in the future."

"My first impressions of the car? It looks great, but the main thing is that the RB20 is fast. We've been working to make it that way and we'll continue the hard work at the Bahrain tests."
Sergio Perez: "This year, most drivers will want to decide on their contracts as early as possible. I am focused on having a successful season and everything else will come by itself. As long as you show results on the track, there are no problems. I don't mind the rumours."

"My main goal is to succeed on the track. I've been in this business for many years, so I know how everything works. Now all these rumors bother me much less than before."

"It's going to be a very busy start to the season, so I'm still focused on the first races and I haven't thought about long-term plans. I don't want to put time limits on myself. Now it's important to get the most out of the first five races."

"Thinking and talking about the future will drain my energy and I don't want to be distracted. I'm playing for a big team. Let's see what's in store. Ideally I'd like to spend a few more years at Red Bull."

"I feel confident thanks to the experience I gained last year. It's important to learn from mistakes. This will be my fourth season at Red Bull and I expect to be in top form."

"It's important to take every opportunity and progress throughout the year. It's a long season ahead, so it's not about how we start it in Bahrain, it's about what position I'll be on the finish line in Abu Dhabi. My goal for this year is always to improve."
