Force India is pleased to welcome Acronis as its Data Protection Technical Partner. Acronis’ technology and expertise will help Force India deal with the large amounts of data generated both trackside and at the UK factory, and ensure it remains protected.
This technical partnership also sees Force India’s operations office at Silverstone renamed as the Acronis Mission Control Centre. This is where the team’s factory support engineers will access the huge amounts of data generated trackside.
The technology challenges facing Force India are common to most racing teams, such as tight schedules, cyber threats, efficient data protection, and the ability to process big data (telemetry) to refine performance.
The partnership solves these challenges for the team and allows Acronis to showcase its backup technology, storage solutions, and AI-based protection against ransomware, Acronis Active Protection, on the world stage in an ultra-competitive environment.
Formula One is a data-driven sport. It generates significantly more data than other sports – each team produces several hundred terabytes of data in a season. Teams rely on huge data centres full of computers that need protecting, which is where Acronis and its software solutions play a crucial role. Acronis sees a natural fit for its data protection solutions in the motorsport industry and especially in Formula One.
Otmar Szafnauer, Chief Operating Officer: "Our partnership with Acronis addresses our data management measures and gives us the confidence that our information is managed in a safe and secure manner. It’s a mutually beneficial partnership because we will demonstrate the capabilities of Acronis’ data protection and storage solutions, while also giving Acronis insights into the needs of the motorsport industry."
John Zanni, President of Acronis: "We are proud to form a partnership with Sahara Force India. Acronis innovative technology fully meets the requirements of motorsport teams, offering fast, easy, and reliable protection of data when it matters most. We’re looking forward to a productive season together."
