Nico Rosberg fastest in Q1
Qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix will continue from Q2 on Sunday morning, 01:00 Central European Time, becouse of torrential downpours in Melbourne. The decision to postpone the rest of the session was finally taken nearly two hours after qualifying had begun.Nico Rosberg was fastest in a session with many crashes, with team-mate Lewis Hamilton lucky to escape an early spin. Felipe Massa hit the wall at turn 12 and somehow only suffered damage to the front wing and nose, but Esteban Gutierrez was not so lucky as he crashed at the same point at the end of the session. As a result Gutierrez dropped out alongside a frustrated Pastor Maldonado. Venezuelan driver said that FW35 is simply undriveable.
Both Caterhams had to be back to their garages without front wings after spinning into the barriers. Jules Bianchi led the rest of the rear pack in his Marussia, with the crashing Caterhams at the very back.
