VALENCIA SAFETY CHANGES

Valencia Grand Prix officials have undertaken extensive safety modifications to their track ahead of this weekend's second Formula 1 race at the venue. Although last year's event was deemed a success, input from the drivers and the FIA has prompted a series of changes to be made to the street circuit.

The pit exit has been revised to bring it to the same level as the track, and the wall separating the two sections of circuit in this area has been removed. The inner pit lane has also been sealed using a high-grip resin. The walls at turns 3, 5, 9, 10 and 14 have been moved further away from the track, while the kerbs at the exit of turns 4 and 5 have also been extended.

Furthermore, artificial grass has been fitted behind the kerbs on the exit of turns 10 and 14 to try and deter drivers from running wide.
