For the first time this season, this weekend in Spain none of the BMW Sauber cars will be equipped with KERS. Robert Kubica used KERS for the first time two weeks ago in Bahrain, but his teammate Nick Heidfeld used the Kers since the beginning of the season in 2009.
Team boss Mario Theissen said today that for Barcelona the team had to choose whether to take the lead in Kers or to devote to aerodynamic modification.
"With so little time available we choose second" said Theissen, confirming the absence of KERS and for Monaco. "We should go back to use it in Turkey. From a technical point of view, the results are positive. The system has worked without problems so far."
