2014 SPANISH GP: LEWIS HAMILTON WINS, FORMULA 1 LOST

WHAT I DID, 4-TH STRAIGHT WIN!!!

Lewis Hamilton recorded his fourth straight Formula 1 victory of 2014, after narrowly defeating Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in a thrilling conclusion to the Spanish Grand Prix. The Englishman, who went on a medium-medium-hard strategy from pole, beat his team mate Nico Rosberg by just six tenths of a second, who chose a medium-hard-medium strategy. The two strategies ensured a thrilling wheel-to-wheel battle as Rosberg was able to take advantage of his newer and faster tyres at the end of the race.

Mercedes forty seconds on Red Bull was impressive enough but effectiely seeing both Ferrari's a lap down, Alonso was just a little further up the road, shows just how far ahead Mercedes is this year. Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel started from 15th on the grid but finished fourth with a three-stop sprint strategy, running mostly on the faster medium tyre and setting fastest lap. He was also able to make up several places in the closing stages.

The result has moved Hamilton ahead of Rosberg by three points in the drivers' standings, while Fernando Alonso remains third ahead of Sebastian Vettel in fourth.
