2014 CHINESE GP: EASY WIN FOR LEWIS HAMILTON

Lewis Hamilton won this weekend his third consecutive grand prix of the season, achieved for the first time in his career. The Mercedes driver dominated the race from start to finish, with the team achieving another one-two in Shanghai. Although Hamilton had a comfortable lead in the race, the same can not be said of his teammate who had to recover positions to reach the runner-up place finish.

Rosberg started the race in fourth place, behind the two Red Bull and with a bad start fell to seventh avoiding more serious problems along the way, with a small touch on Valteri Bottas' Williams on the first corner. The German rocketed to fifth place, overtaking Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Massa, and returned to fourth place after the first round to the pits when he passed Red Bull Daniel Ricciardo. In the second stint of the race, with Mercedes confirming no fuel management problems, Rosberg first attacked Vettel's third place and finally took over Alonso's second place, confirming another Mercedes one-two.

Alonso finished the race in third place after having jumped immediately at the start from fifth to third place and later to second ahead of Vettel, thanks to an early trip to the pits. Yet the Ferrari, with several improvements, wasn't fast enough to contain the speed of Rosberg's Mercedes and ended up falling down to third place. Vettel ended up having to fight with his teammate for fourth place. He didn't follow his team orders to let Ricciardo go through, but he eventually got overtaken and dropped to fifth place, finishing the race 24 seconds behind the Australian, who still managed to cut the gap to Alonso to 1.2 seconds. Force India once again showed a good pace with Nico Hulkenberg finishing the race in sixth place, ahead of Williams' Valteri Bottas. His teammate was responsible for the great recovery of day, jumping from 16th to ninth place behind Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari. The top 10 was completed with Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat.
